Elvire Vatovec Prade Primary School is situated in Prade, a settlement east of Koper on the Slovenian coast.Besides the central school in Prade, there’s also a branch school in the nearby village Sv. Anton.

396 pupils (6 -10 year olds) attend 1 to 5 classes, they are taught by 22 class teachers. 260 pupils (11-14 year olds) attend 6 to 9 classes and are taught by 32 subject teachers. In Slovenia children start school at the age of 6 and finish the nine year programme when they are 14.

Teachers and pupils at our school participate in many regional and international projects, to name just a few:

- STEP- BY- STEP

The aim of the project is a transfer to pupil oriented methods in the educational process. We are developing the project in cooperation with the Educational Research Institute (ERI) in Ljubljana.

- RWTC: Reading and writing for critical thinking

We are upgrading the Step-by- step methodology by using critical thinking philosophy in theory and in practice. 

- ECO -SCHOOL

The purpose of this international programme is to encourage and increase environmental awareness with the focus on sustainable development.

- NA- MA WAYS

This is a Science and Maths literacy cross - curriculum project combined with technology and interactivity.

- EDUCA2

The aim of this international project is to strengthen cross-border educational cooperation with the development of didactic tools and educational models.
